December Happenings

I turned 27 years old and my little family showed their love by baking me a cake and then Spencer and I went out to dinner.
 Doing the dishes.... even Bree got in on the yumminess
 Birthday Dinner at Texas Road House
 Because it's been so cold Kate has found some new ways to entertain herself like going gold diggin' in the couch.  She found a plathra of goods which included, old fruit snacks, a paperclip, 23 cents, some lost toys and other stuff that went straight into the garbage.  (The more Kate shows her personality the more clear it is to me that she is her father's daughter... maybe that's why I love her so much!)
 We made a gingerbread house
 Spencer got his Dad's old 4 wheeler and has been on a plowing frenzie for the WHOLE neighborhood.
 I found Kate reading Bree a book - she's a great big sister!
 Austin And Kate ready to go sledding!
 Yes, that's Brooke eating the snow.
 We had our Ward Christmas Party.
 And here's Bree just being herself... adorable!
 We threw a surprise birthday party for Mama's 80th birthday.  It was a blast and so fun to hear all the memories everyone shared about Mama.  Good Times!
 We went up to Idaho for a pre-Christmas Day party.  We ate, opened presents, played games, and as always had a good time.
 We ended up with the hat... so just watch out for next year
 Kate and Bree opened up their Christmas Eve presents
 Chirstmas Morning!
 Kate got lots of good stuff this year including 2 gold fish (even though one of them is black), an exercise mat from Adam and Wendy's family which she uses all the time, and over a 50 piece polly pocket dolls and acessories set.
  Bree too must have been really good this year because she got some blocks, bath toys and some squeekers.
 Later that morning we went to my parents to exchange gifts and have breakfast.  They had just moved out to Utah so Nicole colored a christmas tree on paper and hung it up on the wall... its behind Spencer in the picture.

As for the rest of the month we were sick with the flu.  Kate got a really bad infection in her mouth with blisters on her lips, her gums and on her tongue and cheeks.  For about 2 and a half weeks we were totally out of commission, not to mention misery from being sick and having to deal with 2 sick children.  You forget how grateful you are for good health until it leaves you for a bit.  Happy to say that we are all doing better now and plan to keep it that way.

6 Months

My little Bree is 6 months.  Here are her stats
Length: 25 1/4 inches  --  26%
Weight: 13 lbs 9 oz  --  6%
The Doctor was a little concerned with her drop in weight from her last check up.  He told me to bring on the solids and feed them to her 3 times a day.  I had such high hopes that she was going to be my little chunker but have come to realize that I might never get a big chubby baby.  In fact, when the nurse came in the room to take her stats, she looked at Bree and asked if we were here for her 2 months check up. Haha!

What she's been up to...
* She 's gotten really good at rolling over - she's almost never on her tummy anymore
* She's just a babbling
* She likes to blow bubbles
* She sits all by herself (but I still have to watch her because if she trys to reach for something too far - she ends up on her face)
* She laughs at Kate all the time
* She's eating baby food and likes peas and sweet potato the best
* She's still not the best sleeper :(
* She's wearing 3-6 month clothes
* She's becoming more attached to me, her mama
* She still loves snuggle
