Painting

Kate got a paint set for her birthday and just found them again. She hasn't stopped painting since. Poor trees, we are sure using a lot of paper for this little girl's hobby.

Pioneer Day

Today was Pioneer Day. In Utah, Pioneer day is just as huge as the 4th of July. It basically celebrates the founding of Utah. Lehi's fire department fills the park with foam so we got to play in foam at the park and eat some watermelon. Kate was a little hesitant about all the people and the bubbles but Spencer dove right in. (My camera died right after these two pictures so I wasn't able to get any of Spencer. He was of course covered in foam. He actually ran really fast and dove head first smacking his face on the ground, giving himself a bloody nose.)
Later on that evening we headed over to our neighbors for a party. We ate roasted pig and other tasty treats. Then to end it all they put on a big fireworks show. We had such a great day!

Water Day

Today we went to the new water park in Lindon. We had such a great time splashing in the water and soaking up the the sun. It's always fun to find new things to do around here.

Kate and I gave this place two thumbs up and can't wait to bring Spencer here with us next time.

Kate got a new slide from our neighbors and even though it's a slide, she doesn't slide down it she JUMPS off of it. The girl is crazy...

But she sure is cute!

Check out the video of her jumping at

Monk Monk

Kate got a stuffed animal monkey for her 1 year birthday from Spencer. She's never really played much with it other than sleeping with it for the last year. However, in the last few months it has become her best friend. We're not really sure if Monk-monk is a boy or a girl because every time I ask her she looks at me and says, ''it's a monkey". So it goes everywhere with us now and is always by her side. Here are a few pictures of Kate and her Monk-monk.

Independance Day

For the 4th of July weekend Logan and Hannah came down. They got here Thursday night and helped us move in. That night we couldn't figure out how to turn the AC on so luckily it was cool enough that we just opened the windows. It was a good idea until the next morning when our whole house smelled like a skunk. We kind of live in the country around some fields.
Friday afternoon we all went to Seven Peaks water park in Provo. Hannah, Kate and I spent most of the time in the wave pool while Spencer and Logan tried out all the water slides. As we were driving home we passed the Provo Freedom Days Celebration and decided to stop for dinner there and then spend some time seeing the sights. Next year we'll be sure to bring some money to do all the fun things they had there. On Saturday, the 4th of July, we got some lunch and made a quick stop at the Gardens at Thanksgiving Point. After which we all went back home for everyone to take a nap. When we all woke up Spencer and Logan decided to start playing with the fireworks in the backyard. They look innocent but don't let these boys fool you - they were blowing up toys, insects and even started a fire in the field behind us with an illegal bottle rocket. After that little incident we thought it would be best to light the rest of the fireworks in the cult-a-sac with the rest of the neighbors. Hannah and I had front row seats for the show. Kate loved the sparklers!Later that night we headed over to Thanksgiving Point again for real fireworks. However, the whole time we were wishing we were at the Green Belt in Idaho Falls watching the best fireworks show in the west. The fireworks kept Kate's attention for about 3 minutes and then she spent the next 25 minutes playing in the back of the truck.

It was a great Independence Day and I'm so grateful to live in this country!

Dream Home is now a Reality!

Today we closed on our dream home. Both Spencer and I are so excited and have already started to move things over. We feel so blessed to have found such an amazing home. Pictures to come!
