Football Game

Spencer got 3 tickets on the 3rd row from his boss to see the Arizona Cardinals play the San Francisco 49ers last Monday night.  The plan was to take Cory and Adam but with a big snow storm in Idaho, Adam not feeling well, and Cory's big oxygen tank not working the cards were just not in their hands.  So with a quick change our neighbor Lance and his son Carson took their spots.  They went down Monday morning and came back Tuesday night.  I tried to watch for them at the game and see if I could find them but had no   luck. Thanks Robin for the tickets and hospitality!  Even though it was a blow out (27 to 6, 49ers) They still had fun.  However, I know Spencer missed his girls and was in such a hurry to get home that he got a nice little... I mean a LARGE speeding ticket.  Memories, right?

Christmas Tree

We got our Christmas tree this afternoon and then came home to decorate it while listening to Christmas music, of course.  It was so much fun and Kate was a big help this year by testing the tree lights and organizing the decorations.  I love the spirit that comes with the season and now that the tree is up, the stocking hung, Christmas music playing, lights on the housetop, and a warm fire, snow on the ground the holiday festivities can begin. YAY!

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we were up in Idaho. We left Wednesday and the the usually 3 1/2 hour drive ended up taking more like 5 hours because of the iced roads. Nonetheless, we made it there. We first stopped to see Adam and Wendy's new house they just bought in Shelley. Then we went to see Grandpa and Grandma. Thanksgiving morning the temperature outside was a chilly 8 degrees but that didn't stop Spencer from playing in the turkey bowl with friends. Thanksgiving dinner was really Thanksgiving lunch because Terry needed to go hunting. The rest of the evening we played games like Pictionary and Take It. Friday we did a little Black Friday shopping and then got lunch with Great Grandma and Grandpa Scott. It was a quick trip but a fun one as always. As we drove home I thought about all the things I'm grateful for in my life. I have so much and have been blessed to have such a great family.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday  November 18th
Today, is our actual anniversary. Spencer got me my favorite breakfast, a chick-fli-a chicken biscuit.
Later that night we went out to eat at the Oh So Yummy....

Yes, I love this place.  Good thing we only go maybe once a year because if we went more often Spencer would have to roll me around.  The food is great and the portions are out of this world.  PS. thanks guy in the middle - glad you looked over and raised your loaded fork to us and our 5th anniversary.
Friday - We're going to see the movie Unstoppable.  Should be great!

Spencer is the best husband, father, provider, friend, neighbor, jokester, helper, hard worker, cleaner, problem solver and  listener I know. He rocks my world!!! Happy 5 Year Anniversary!

rolling on

Bree has been rollin' from tummy to back and from her back to her tummy for a few weeks now.  In fact, the other day she rolled across our living room floor.  Just like that the days of laying her on the floor and not worrying are over.

Florida 2010

On the flight there Kate was all smiles and even though both Spencer and I aren't fans of flying it was fun to see Kate so excited. Both of the girls did really well for the 7 hours that it took us to get to the the Sun Shine State.

Day 1 Tuesday
International Drive
After a long flight and getting to bed well after midnight we played it cool the next day by driving I-Drive and stopping at Fun Spot to ride the rides and play some games.
Kate kicked Spencer's butt in winning tickets.
Later that night we carved a pumpkin. After 5 years of doing this together as a family we have finally gotten this process down to a tee. Spencer cleans out the pumpkin and then I go in for the carving. And just like that we are done.
Day 2 Wednesday
Beach Day
We took off to Cocoa Beach to play in the water. It was such a nice day and Kate loved it. Nothing like a huge sandbox and an endless water supply to play in. Bree on the other hand didn't care for the cold water or wet sand. She was content sitting with her mom, people watching. And boy oh boy did we have some good laughs.
Working on a sand castle... however it didn't get much better than this.

Kate spent some time picking up sea shells and even though most of them were broken she was still proud to find so many to take home.

After a hot day at the beach we had to stop and get a gelati - a layered treat of Italian ice and ice-cream. Most delicious!

That night my sister had a pre-season soccer game that we went to. It was a close game and even though they lost Kate was a great cheer-leader.

Day 3 Thursday
Disney World
This was the big day. It started early and and ended late. However, it was the best day of the vacation. It was awesome to see Kate's face light up every time she saw a princess.
Pictures with Cinderella's wicked Stepmother and her ugly stepsisters. The girl in the blue and green looked and acted just like her.
The Dreams Come True Parade was awesome. In fact, I think it was the first time I've seen the parade because that's` usually when we hit the long-line rides. Kate was smiling from ear to ear.
We got park hopper tickets so later that day we visited Epcot. I wish we could have had more time in the day but going to Disney in 90 degree weather with a 5 month old and a 3 year old only allows for so much before we all get too hot, too tired and too cranky. And here they are the Disney Princess's
Sleeping Beauty
Cinderella Belle(Funny Note: Belle asked Kate who her favorite Princess was and Kate put her finger to her lip and then looked her in the eyes and said Snow White. Hahaha) Ariel
(Funny Note: Kate asked where Prince Eric was and she sweetly replied, "Oh he's washing Max the dog" Fast thinking Ariel.)Jasmine & Aladdin Snow White
It was a long day and one of the hottest days that week. When we were back in the car Spencer asked Kate if it was the best day ever and she replied, "No daddy, the sweatiest". By the end of the day we all were sweating, sticky, stinky, tired but most of all HUNGRY. We met up with Nicole at Chili's for her Birthday dinner. Both of the girls fell asleep so we were able to eat dinner in peace and popped up for a quick picture.
Day 4 Friday
Halloween Party - Those pictures are to come soon.
Day5 Saturday
Oranges
Kate helped Nicole wash her car and then we went to Clearmont to pick some oranges.

Bree just sat in her seat and looked so cute. She's such a good baby.

Kate picked an orange just her size.

Of course we had to sample some oranges.

Once again we needed some ice-cream to cool us off from our hard work.

Later that evening Kate and Bree marched in the neighborhood parade. Of course it wasn't hard for Kate to make a friend.

Keeta was a witch too. Then dinner at Panera Bread - so yummy with family. And a quick stop at the gas station to pick up a few lottery tickets for Nicole for her 18th birthday. She won 7 dollars!Day 6 Sunday
Church
What beautiful girls! Nicole was great with Kate and Bree - they're lucky to have such a awesome auntie. Kate was so excited to go to nursery because there she could finally play with kids her age. When we picked her up and asked how she did, the nursery lady said Kate made her laugh when they were singing songs Kate wanted to sing Kesha's Tik-Tok."Wake up in the morning feeling like P-Diddy"That night we had the whole family over to celebrate Nicole's BIG 18th Birthday. My mom made her favorite Tres Leches cake. It was really good.
Here's a few of the newbies and their daddy's. From left to right Adam and his son Isaac who was 4 months old; Gregory and his daughter Alyssa who was 2 and a half.
And of course a picture of Mama with Bree. Her 27th great grandchild. When Mama first saw Bree she said she was a mini Hector. If only my dad was this cute.
It was a GREAT family vacation. I couldn't have asked for a better week with my family. I thought I would end with this picture of Kate on the flight back.
