For Family Home Evening we start by everyone picking a song for all of us to sing. When it was Kate's turn she picked the song, "Noodles and Sauce". What? You've never heard of that song before, well neither had I. However, Spencer played along that he knew what song she was talking about and so they both started singing their own versions of Noodles and Sauce. It was quite funny and put everyone in a silly mood for the rest of the evening. From what I could gather from Kate's song was how much she loved noodles and sauce and could eat it for every meal of the day.Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Some New Favorites
Kate loves all shapes and is always asking me to draw them or she is pointing them out to me whenever she sees one. Her favorite one now is an Octagon.
She is now in the phase of asking why after everything. Any parent knows how annoying this can get. However, Spencer found a way to end the constant "why" question by answering "nothing" back to her. Yes it makes no sense but I think it confuses her enough to where she moves on and stops asking why - at least for a few minutes.
Kate can now read digital clocks. This comes in very handy when I need to know what time it is and can't see a clock. She can't quite say it properly but she'll read off the numbers then it's easy to guess the time.
We just celebrated Austin's 5th birthday and now Kate can't stop talking about her birthday. She keeps telling me she wants a tea party birthday with rainbow cupcakes. She's so excited - too bad its 2 1/2 months away.
Kate found her old newborn baby clothes and is now constantly pulling them out and showing me what the baby is going to where followed by "it's so little and so prettitiful" (pretty and beautiful combined)
A long time coming...
Most times that I haven't posted things for awhile it's because there hasn't been much going on... that's not the case this time. There's a lot to show and tell about so this will be a very long post.
First things first, we have been in the process of re-doing Kate's room. She's out of her crib - which almost brought a tear to my eye when we took it down - and now in a big girl bed. She got new paint on the wall, new bookshelves, new curtains (which were homemade by me) and a new dresser. At first Kate was a little hesitant about all the changes and when I asked her if she liked her "new room" she replied with a simple, "No." It's been a month since all the changes and I think her room has finally grown on her because every time I go in there while she's in there she tells me, "Mom, I really do love my room". Those few words made it all worth it. P.S. All the big stuff is in and now I just need to add a few decorations and some pictures on the wall. It's on my list and as soon as it's done I'll be sure to post a picture.
2. Take Time to Smell... the DIRTSo I'm finally in the 3rd Trimester and feeling very pregnant. I just went to my OB check up and it looks as though this baby is right on schedule. I created my 3 month check list to try and prepare me and my family for the new addition, but mostly because I'm way excited and want to pass the time away.
Kate and Spencer wanted to show off their bellys too. The question is... what cookin' in their tummies?
4. Cousins
The last weekend in February Adam and his family came down to visit and celebrate Ashley's birthday. We went to a nickel arcade (Spencer's idea) Spencer felt right at home and taught Kate the way of the Arcade.
The boys played a game of hoops Spencer was so proud when Kate won the jackpot of 9 tickets at one of the games all by herself.
Kate showing off what she got with 110 tickets.
Saturday night we celebrated Ashley's Birthday with cupcakes and presents. She got a cute hat and purse and a new kite.
Here's the birthday girl really enjoying her cupcake.
We had a great time with them and hope Ashley had a wonderful birthday!
5. Mom & Me Gymnastics
I signed Kate up for a Mom & Tots gymnastic class at our local gym. She loved it but as I'm only getting bigger we only did a trail month. Kate loved all the running, jumping, somersaults, balancing and such that she got to do each week. There were about 5 other kids her age in her class and Kate was by far the most coordinated (that my bias opinion). As soon as this baby comes, and I can see my toes again we're signing her back up. Sorry no pictures - the day I was planning to bring the camera, Kate got sick and we didn't make it to the class. Next time, right.
