Kate's Birthday Bash

Kate had her birthday party on Tuesday. She was so blessed to have all her friends and family come to play with her. Here are some pictures of her exciting day.

Here's everyone enjoying the scrumptious treats that I made - looks yummy, yuh?

Addie, Kate's friend, played mommy and made sure Kate got lots of hugs on her special day.

I also made Kate's cake and was hoping she'd just shred it into pieces but, no our little princess she didn't want to touch it.

However, Brooke was on standby and once Kate gave her the go ahead she jumped on in and played in the frosting. At least someone enjoyed the cake, right.

Kate made out like a bandit with lots of wonderful toys and books. Here's a shout out to all those who gave her something for her birthday, THANK YOU very much!!!

Natalie, my cousin, was able to find herself a boyfriend at the party... only problem is that he's only 3 years old and related to her. Oh well Nat, I guess you'll have to keep it in the family.

G.J. and Veronica gave Kate a little stuffed animal dog and she loved it.

Kate also got a bubble blower gun and as soon as the boys got a hold of it, it was the activity of the night. All the kids had a blast chasing and popping the bubbles.

Even Kate could not resist herself and had to join in on the fun with the bubbles.

Before the night was over Kate thought she got one last present... her own dogie. But it was just Jared's goatee. She really liked petting it though.

It was a wonderful and eventful day and I'm sure Kate had fun. It's still hard for me to believe she's one but, it's been the best year and I know there are many more amazing moments to share with our little Chalupa.

2 more hours til' Par-tay

Cake... check, ice-cream...check, balloons...check, presents....check. Only 2 hours until party time and I saw this and thought this is excatly how I feel.

Happy Birthday to Kate

It's Kates one year old birthday today and I think she knew it because she woke up at 6:00 in the morning - ready to start her day. It's been a great day so far and I can't wait for her par-tay to get underway. Here are just some silly pictures we've takin so far.

Spencer gave Kate a new stuffed animal monkey when she woke up this morning. She loved it of course.

Right before I gave Kate a bath, I put a birthday bow on her - she wasn't too happy about that. She just wanted to play in the tub.

Baby Contest

We just found out that Kate won 1st Place in the Baby Contest for Pony Express Days out here in Eagle Mountain. She won a bunch of prizes and also gets to ride in a parade on Saturday! I have to admit we were afriad that when it was time to meet the judges she would give them her famous "crusty look" but to our happy surprize she played them like a fiddle. She snuggled her monkey, and asked "whas-dat", she waved hi and bye and pointed to the prizes and said "that". However, just before we left she did get in one crusty look.

The New Hairstyle

It's gone... not all of my hair (phew) but a good chunk of it is "asta la vista". Surprisingly, I'm ok with that. I actually like my new do a lot! And although Spencer would have liked it to be a little bit longer he's ok with it because, "It can grow out." So now I have to try and style my hair as good as she did - we'll see how I do tomorrow morning. As for now I'm flipping side to side and fluffing and playing with what little hair I have left. Ü

To cut or not to cut ... to cut

I've been debating it for awhile now - whether or not to cut my hair. Spencer is very hesitant but, supportive and that's why I love him so much! I've made the appointment and now I just have to be brave and not chicken out. After all, hair grows back, right? Plus it's the summer - shorter hair is a must to deal with the Utah heat. I'll have Spencer take a before and after picture so everyone can see the new me! I just hope I don't turn out like this poor fella.

One Year Old Stats

Kate had her one year old well doctor visit today. She's doing really well and also very healthy. Here are her stats for being a year old.

Height: 27 1/4 Inches - 5th percentile

Wieght: 16 lbs. 1 oz. - below the 3rd percentile

So I guess it obivous that we have a very petiet little girl. They always say that great things come in small packages and I couldn't agree more!
