A Black Eye

Early this morning Spencer and some guys went to play football at the park. I expected Spencer to be gone for two hours but to my surprise he was home in just an hour! I didn't know what to think, did he not like football anymore, did no one show up, did he come home early to show me that football isn't that big of a deal. When I asked why he was home so early he simply replayed,"I'm out of commission" and then I saw his black eye. We wiped away the blood and put some ice on it hoping that it would be ok. It's 8:30 at night now and I think he'll be just fine and probably be ready for football next Saturday.

A Halloween Memory...

Ok, so here's a Halloween memory that I don't think I'll ever forget. When I was in the 2nd grade I wanted to be a spider. My mom made me this awesome spider costume - it even had 6 legs (not sure why it didn't have 8 legs?) that moved whenever my arms moved. (That is an important fact for later in the story). Anyway, in my elementary school we got to wear our Halloween costumes to school for a day and walk in a Halloween Parade. After each class was done walking through the parade all the children changed back into regular clothes... except ME!!! I forgot to pack any other clothes. As a result I spent the whole day in my spider outfit. I had to eat lunch, run laps in P.E., play some musical instrument in music class, and sit in my classroom with my whole spider gear on and in the way. I can just imagine how silly I looked trying to do all the days activities in my costume. At the end of the day I had to stand in the "car pick up" zone with all the older kids (in normal clothes of course) waiting for my mom to pick my sister and I up. Nevertheless, my mom was able to spot us right away and we hurried home so I could finally change.

You try...

I had just gotten Kate ready for bed when she found this ointment bottle of who knows what and wanted to open it. She brought it to me and I pretended to try real hard to open it but alas it was just on too tight. I then told her, "Sorry I can't do it... you try". So she took the bottle and made the funniest face and noise while her two little hands tugged at each end of the bottle. After realizing that we both couldn't get it open she took the bottle to Spencer and I ran to get the video camera. Enjoy!

Special Olympics State Games

As some of you know Spencer has been coaching the Lehi Special Olympics Basketball team since August. The team has been doing really well and won gold at the regional games. However, the real competition was this past weekend at the state games. It was both Friday and Saturday and the Lehi Knights put up a good fight winning 2 out of the 5 games they played. They ended up coming in 4th place in their division - not bad at all. I didn't get to go up Friday but both Kate and I went with Spencer on Saturday to help cheer them on. It was so neat to be there. All the players are so fun to watch because they find joy in the smallest of things. There was a game where we were down by a lot so the other team let up so some of our players could make a shot or two. The excitement on their faces when the ball went in the hoop was priceless. It really humbles you to see how loving they are towards each other and how just getting a chance to play makes them so happy. I'm so grateful for a husband who loves to serve and genuinely cares for those people he serves.

Half way through the day they provided Chick-fil-a lunch bags. They were so yummy! The place where they provided he food was called Olympic Town. They had a few booths and some music playing. I even got some cotton candy!

After we were done eating we took a walk and Kate went straight for the music. I got a video of her breakin' it down in the middle of the park.

Halloween Party #1

All my family got together Friday night for an early Halloween Hoo-Ha. All the little kids dressed up in their costumes. Everyone was so cute! Kate was a cheer leader - Ra Ra Shish-Boom-Ba!!

It was so good to see everyone and catch up on all the Bori gossip. Thanks Nat for letting us use your casa and for planning the party. It was most wonderful!

Catching up...

So here's a post for everything that's been going on for the last two weeks.

One morning I was checking my e-mail (something I do every day) but I got up for something and when I came back someone took my place. Here's a video of Kate being my little secretary.

And last but definitely not least, we went to Idaho this past weekend for Kenadee's Baptism and while we were there, Logan purposed to Hannah during a 4wheeler ride we all went on together. Here's to Kenadee for always setting such a great example for her cousins and being so beautiful on both the inside and out. We love you!

Here's Logan, Hannah, Spencer and I getting ready for our adventure on the 4 wheelers Friday night. We had to bundle up into balls because it was like 35 degrees outside. All went well and Hannah came home with a little something extra.
The picture below was taken after Spencer rolled the 4 wheeler! After we turned it back over so it's wheels were on the ground again, he drove it around to see how much damage was done. Luckily it wasn't that bad. No, Spencer didn't get hurt but, there was some damage to the 4 wheeler which will cost us but I'd rather it be the 4-wheeler that gets damaged instead of Spencer.

We enjoyed two very awesome things in one weekend! It's becoming a regular thing for us to go to Idaho every other week. Sometimes, I think it would be so nice if we just lived there or if everyone moved down here to Utah. Haha, I know it's never gonna happen but it's wishful thinking.
