Yearly Stats

- Kate -

Age: 4 yrs.
Weight: 29.6 lbs.  8%
Height: 36.75 in.  4%

Mother's Notes: Kate is doing all and more than what is typical for her age.  No surprise there, right?  She loves to make things which means a guarantee mess for me.  Kate loves to learn about the body and is always asking Spencer medical questions like, "Daddy, what happens if you had no bones but you had a brain and veins?"  She's quick to memorizes songs and loves to be outside with friends.  She doesn't like to wear jeans or pants in general.  If she could she'd wear her bathing suit all day every day.  She loves to sing and I often find her laying on the couch busting out a ballad usually about a princess of sorts. Kate can write her own name and the words, mom and BYU.  She loves to draw and she's gotten the stick figure person down pretty darn good.  Kate loves to joke around and make people laugh.  She's a delight to have in our family.

- Bree -

Age: 1 yr.
Weigth: 15.6 lbs.  below 3% (she wasn't even on the growth chart curve)
Length 27.5 in 7%

Mother's Note:  Bree is my little snuggle-bunny.  She is an excellent nap taker and is a happy baby most days.  She still has no new teeth to report on and we are wondering if they'll ever show up.  She's wearing size 9 months clothing and makes some pretty funny faces when she's got a crowd watching her.  She like to fit bottles to their appropriate lids and will try any new food.  She gains weight very slowly if any at all.  Which the doctors worry about, but we think it's just in the genes.  Bree can say dad, neigh neigh (bottle), light, mom, again, mas (more), and ball - which is used for most B words ie. balloon, bird, book, bye. She's getting close to walking and has taken a step or two here and there but sticks to her regular mode of transportation - crawling 99% of the time.  Her personality shines through a little more every day and anyone who sees her just loves her.

Kate turns 4

Happy Birthday to...
KATE
After getting in from Las Vegas at 1:30 in the morning I decided to let someone else deal with the birthday thing - I was pooped.  So we had Kate's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese.  She loved it!  When we got there she hopped on the stage with all the characters and started dancing with them.

 We ate some pizza
 Played some games
We sung Happy Birthday and ate some cake and ice-cream
we opened presents - my mom spoiled her with lots of ZuZu pets
Austin couldn't believe it was another ZuZu pet
Kate got her Candy Land - a must have for any little girl
She got a BIG girl princess bike
and Spencer wanted to get her a Rapunzel doll

As we left Kate wanted me to take this picture of her with her lollypop she got from the tickets she won.
I love her so much.  She brings such silliness and sunshine to m life.  She is simply the BEST!

Viva Las Vegas

So Bree's B-Day was Monday and Tuesday morning we (us, my parents and nicole and the orems) all stared on our way to Las Vegas.  In our car we had the 3 kids, Bree, Nicole, Spencer and I.  Not an hour into the trip we heard "Are we there yet?" and "How much longer?"
We made it to Cedar City which is half way and let everyone out to shake out the wiggles.  Nicole raced with the kids.... Ready...
 Set...
Go!!!
We arrived early but the hotel let us check in.  It was right down to the pool where Bree fell asleep in her floater - not sure there is anything so sweet!
We played in the pool all day. Then went to the Las Vegas strip to see the gardens and the light show and the Bellagio.
There was no sleeping in so we were all up at 6:30 and the pool didn't open until 9 so until then we played in the room.
 Day 2
That afternoon we went to Circus Circus where Kate and Austin got to participate in a clown act,
 we played some games,
and watched some other cool shows.  Like this girl who was for sure the hula hoop queen
I asked the kids to show me what they won but Bree kept dropping her dog and the kids had enough.
So we went back to the hotel for some more swimming
Spencer was even able to jump in for an hour or two before dinner...which was good because he worked most of the trip.
The last day was a long one for everyone. Spencer had appointments all day and we were kicked out of the hotel at noon.  So we spent the morning diddle-dadling.  Nicole did Bree's hair.
Then Bree and my dad took a nap together
Once we left the Hotel we saw the M&M 3D show
We did some shopping at the Ross there and waited at Burger King for Spencer to be done.  By 6pm we were back on the road to Utah.  We pulled in around 1:30am and practically fell into our beds.  There's nothing better than your own bed.  It was a blast and the weather was perfect.  The kids had a great time swimming in the pool and floating the lazy river.  Austin even learned how to swim all by himself there.  We all decided it wasn't long enough.
