Happy Birthday Kate

Kate turned 3 years old on Thursday. Due to the fact that I just had a baby we did a low key birthday party with just the family. Spencer got Kate the movie Tinkerbell and as we waited for the party to start Ma-moo and Nana got to snuggle the 3 wild ones as we watched the movie. Kate and Brooke have really been into the whole fairy princess thing so it was a perfect gift. Here's Kate all smiles as we get ready to sing Happy Birthday!
After the song it time to blow out the candles
Kate as been asking for rainbow cupcakes for her birthday for the last 3 months. I had it all planned out with these really cute party theme and cupcakes but at las, with a new baby she was happy with confetti cake and rainbow sprinkles.
Present time - Kate was spoiled with lots of great presents. She got a a Dora backpack, a fairy doll, a princess crown and earrings, some princess shoes, a very cute set of golf clubs, a tea set and a doll house. She loved them all! Thanks everyone!
I think it crazy that I have a 3 year old. When I hold Bree I think to myself, WOW! Three years ago it was Kate I was holding in my arms. How the time flies. She is such a good little girl and I love her so much.
Happy Birthday Kate!

Bree's Story

I'm sure everyone who knows me knows I like things planned out so when I was about 5 weeks out I started planning when I was going to have Bree. The plan was to have her 2 weeks early so her and Kate's birthdays were at least 10 days apart. Well, all that planning didn't pan out and that next week went by very slowly.
Finally, Sunday morning at 7 am my water broke. The hypno-birthing classes that we took taught us not to freak out because you have 24 hours before you need meds to protect against an infections. So we both showered and got Kate ready to go to Rachel's. By this time my contractions are now closer to 3 minutes apart and we were now in a bit of a hurry to get to the hospital.
We arrived at the hospital at 8:45 and I'm dilated at 7 cm and 100% effaced. Perfect. Only 45 minutes later I'm ready to have little Miss Bree. In the short amount of time of 2 hours and 49 minutes I gave birth naturally to a beautiful and healthy little girl. Bree Elizabeth was born at 9:49am weighing in at 8lbs and 1 oz and 19 inches in length. Both her and I are doing great. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful little girl come into our family. It was such a wonderful and spiritual experience for both Spencer and I - we couldn't have prayed for anything more. The whole process went so smoothly and so far the recovery is going great too.

How did Kate do...? She was very excited to come to the hospital to see her new little sister. Once there she looked, she poked, she patted and that was it. When we asked if she wanted to hold her little sister she agreed and was good only holding her for about a minute. Now that we are home she's been great. I love them both so much!!!

Mother's Day 2010

For mother's day this year Spencer took me to get my hair cut and then out to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and dessert. Nothing like getting pampered and filling up whatever space I have left with the most delicious food. Sunday Kate made me a card in nursery and Spencer let me have the day to do whatever I wanted. It was great! I'm so lucky to have such an awesome hubby and a little girl who melts my heart when she says she loves me.
