Bree's Story

I'm sure everyone who knows me knows I like things planned out so when I was about 5 weeks out I started planning when I was going to have Bree. The plan was to have her 2 weeks early so her and Kate's birthdays were at least 10 days apart. Well, all that planning didn't pan out and that next week went by very slowly.
Finally, Sunday morning at 7 am my water broke. The hypno-birthing classes that we took taught us not to freak out because you have 24 hours before you need meds to protect against an infections. So we both showered and got Kate ready to go to Rachel's. By this time my contractions are now closer to 3 minutes apart and we were now in a bit of a hurry to get to the hospital.
We arrived at the hospital at 8:45 and I'm dilated at 7 cm and 100% effaced. Perfect. Only 45 minutes later I'm ready to have little Miss Bree. In the short amount of time of 2 hours and 49 minutes I gave birth naturally to a beautiful and healthy little girl. Bree Elizabeth was born at 9:49am weighing in at 8lbs and 1 oz and 19 inches in length. Both her and I are doing great. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful little girl come into our family. It was such a wonderful and spiritual experience for both Spencer and I - we couldn't have prayed for anything more. The whole process went so smoothly and so far the recovery is going great too.

How did Kate do...? She was very excited to come to the hospital to see her new little sister. Once there she looked, she poked, she patted and that was it. When we asked if she wanted to hold her little sister she agreed and was good only holding her for about a minute. Now that we are home she's been great. I love them both so much!!!

Here we are - one big happy family
Going home outfit - which was very appropriate because it was snowing when we left the hospital... yes, I said SNOWING.
Home sweet home with our new bundle of joy.
And so now our new journey begins ...
