No Training Wheels... Maybe

This morning Kate woke up, put on jeans (this is a big deal in itself because the girl very much dislikes wearing pants let alone jeans) a long sleeve shirt and got her sock and shoes on.  When she came out of her room both Spencer and I were a little confused by her choice of clothing.  Then she said, "K Daddy, teach me to ride my bike without training wheels"
So at a quarter to 9 the two of them went outside.  Kate super excited and Spencer super nervous.  After a good 5 minutes of trying to teach her to just balance on the bike which she could only do for about 2 seconds before she tipped over, Spencer was saved by the garbage truck man who drove by and didn't collect our grass clippings.
So a new adventure came about and Spencer and Kate stopped the "Lesson" and chased down the garbage truck guy, who happened to be parked just down the street by the park bathrooms, where they had to wait about 10 minutes for him to come out of the public restrooms.  Awkward!
By the time they cleared up the misunderstanding about the grass clippings it was too hot for the "Lesson" to continue.  It was a good try from both but after thinking about it we decided to put the training wheels back back on and make them really loose so she could learn to balance on her bike but still feel like she wasn't going to fall over.  Hopefully by the end of summer she'll have it down. Both her and her dad are so much a like...not very patient.
